Summary

Following a significant global merger, Forvis Mazars sought a workplace that could unify its Dallas operations and reflect its new brand identity. Designed by HOK and built by K2 Construction, the 25,961 square-foot office at International Plaza II combines modern minimalism with warm, sculptural details. Our role was to deliver an expansive portfolio of advanced commercial photography, capturing not only the project’s signature design features but also the human energy that brings the space to life.

About the Project

The Dallas hub consolidates different offices into one, bringing together more than 100 employees under a single roof. HOK’s design balances the functionality of a traditional office with the flexibility needed for a partially remote workforce. Polished concrete floors, demountable office fronts, and open workstation layouts give the space a sleek, efficient character. At the same time, custom curved millwork, bent marble planter boxes, and backlit wood-paneled walls introduce warmth and tactility. The result is a workplace that feels both modern and welcoming; an environment suited to global reach yet grounded in local culture.

Goals

Our assignment focused on translating the architecture into a visual narrative that could:

  • Highlight HOK’s signature detailing, particularly the interplay of straight lines and curved elements.
  • Capture the openness and natural light that define the perimeter workstations.
  • Showcase materiality, from polished concrete to custom wood treatments.
  • Convey how the space supports collaboration and daily use by including models in select shots.
  • Provide a comprehensive, high-volume set of images versatile enough for use by HOK, K2, and Forvis Mazars across portfolios, marketing, and press features.

Strategy

To tell the full story of the project, we applied a meticulous photography approach:

  • Advanced commercial photography techniques: off-camera lighting was carefully used to balance natural daylight with interior fixtures, ensuring material richness and tonal accuracy.
  • Compositional precision: shots were framed to emphasize geometry and symmetry, drawing the eye along linear corridors, across curved pieces, and into layered collaborative zones.
  • Daylight perspectives: images were timed to highlight the abundance of natural light streaming into perimeter workstations, reinforcing the design’s emphasis on transparency and openness.
  • Detail studies: close-up captures of wood paneling, marble finishes, and tambour panels told a textural story as well as an architectural one.
  • Lifestyle integration: models were incorporated to animate the office, showcasing movement, collaboration, and scale; bridging the gap between design intent and lived experience.

Outcome

The final collection delivers a polished, editorial-level visual record of Forvis Mazars’ Dallas hub. Each image communicates the project’s dual nature: disciplined modernism softened by warmth and curve. By emphasizing geometry, light, detail, and human interaction, the photography elevates HOK’s design intention. The portfolio positions the project not just as a workplace, but as a symbol of the firm’s new global identity: modern, confident, and designed for growth.
